* Infant or Children's Dehydration Problem*

Dehydration is one of the stupid disease I have ever faced on mine baby & other relative's infants. Actually, when I found that mine baby is in deep trouble with the syndrome like diarrhea, vomiting; I felt like horrible. It's truly difficult to feed this size of children a recommend amount of water/fluid, but there haven't any way. My wife's teen sister (13 yrs old), 2 days before was in serious dehydration and almost going to shock! (BP was 30/70). She is still fighting of dehydration problem and was needed to provide direct running saline through vain. Hope she will be fine after this day.

I tried to take advices from child specialist and the common advice is feeding proper amount of fluid (200 ML) after each purging. And if it's more than 3 times purging in 1 hour; the patient should be taken fluid directly through vain! But I still don't want to inject mine babies little body. So, I have planned to feed proper fluid.

The following rough guide to the amount of ORS needed in the first 4 to 6 hours of treatment for a mildly dehydrated person:

* Up to 11 pounds: 200-400 ml
* 11-22 pounds: 400-00 ml
* 22-33 pounds: 600-800 ml
* 33-44 pounds: 800-1000 ml
* 44-66 pounds: 1000-1500 ml
* 66-88 pounds: 1500-2000 ml
* 88+ pounds: 2000-4000 ml
